Worldata to Manage Computer Shopper List

Worldata has won management of the Computer Shopper, a CNET Networks publication, subscriber file. The appointment takes effect Feb. 1.

The file features 317,972 active subscribers who purchase Internet hardware, software and services. They spend an average $225,000 on various computer products.

A recent survey of Computer Shopper direct buyers found that this year 68% intend to buy PC systems, 82% peripherals, 73% software and 80% accessories, with an emphasis on Windows and multimedia. Some 63% of subscribers are college graduates with mean personal incomes of $66,100, 69% are at home address.

An e-mail file is expected to debut later this year, Jay Schwedelson, president of Worldata, said.

The file had been managed by Direct Media Inc.
