If a picture is worth a thousand words, how many words is a video worth? Try searching for the answer on your favorite search engine and you’ll likely come across mentions of research from Dr. James McQuivey of Forrester Research, which found that a one-minute video is the equivalent of 1.8 million words. With Facebook’s Instagram expanding its territory by introducing videos into its formerly photo-only feeds, marketers and brands have to ask themselves some important questions about what this means for their use of the platform. After all, those are a lot of extra words to play with.
