A majority of Internet marketers have voted overwhelmingly in favor of opt-in e-mail marketing, according to separate surveys from e-mail service provider NetCreations Inc., New York.
“The results of our first poll in February, found that 80% of the more than 5,500 respondents supported legislation that would require marketers to obtain consumers’ permission before sending them marketing messages by e-mail,” said company CEO Rosalind Resnick.
The second poll, an informal survey of attendees taken at the Direct Marketing Association’s Internet marketing conference last week, also found that marketers overwhelmingly favored opt-in e-mail marketing services as the proper means to reach consumers.
