Wanda Gierhart Named CMO of Neiman Marcus Group

Wanda Gierhart has been named senior VP and CMO of The Neiman Marcus Group Inc. Her appointment is effective Aug. 10.

Gierhart will be responsible for marketing, market research, advertising, sales promotion, and customer insight activities for Neiman Marcus Stores, Neiman Marcus Direct and Bergdorf Goodman.

Prior to this appointment, Gierhart served as president and CEO of TravelSmith, a travel apparel and accessory retailer. Before TravelSmith, she was executive VP and chief marketing and merchandising officer of Design Within Reach. She also spent eight years with Limited Stores, ultimately becoming executive VP and CMO. Gierhart began her career in the executive training program at Electronic Data Systems and subsequently spent six years in various marketing and management positions at Neiman Marcus Direct.

She will report to Karen Katz, president and CEO of Neiman Marcus Stores and executive VP of The Neiman Marcus Group.

“It is Wanda’s extensive experience in the retail industry in both marketing and leadership roles that makes her a perfect match for our needs,” Katz said in a statement.
