Traffix, Inc., a permission-based e-mail service provider, projected that revenue for fiscal 2002 would be between $49 and $53 million, compared with the $32.2 million it earned in fiscal 2001.
The Pearl River, NY-based company also said that its operating income would increase to between $9.5 and $10.5 million, compared with $6.3 million during fiscal 2001.
The growth will partly stem from several major client acquisitions, including Sprint Long Distance and Columbia House, according to Joshua B. Gillon, an executive vice president at Traffix. Both will be top customers, Gillon said.
According to Gillon, the company will be profitable on a net income basis during 2002.
Traffix made two acquisitions within the last three months, including Thanksmuch.com, an online costume jewelry and gift items marketer, and Infiknowledge, an e-mail delivery firm the company had been using. But these two companies generated $1 million in revenue each during 2001, Gillon said. As a result, most of Traffix revenue growth during 2002 will be organic.
In addition to Thanksmuch.com, the company also operates GroupLotto.com and Prizecade.com. Traffix provides consumers that visit these sites the opportunity to join its database.
Traffix customers include Globe Life Insurance, a division of Torchmark, American Express Blue, Providian residential mortgage services, Harris Polls, Cross Media Marketing and the University of Phoenix distant learning programs.
Traffix manages a database of 50 million consumers, and provides permission-based e-mail addresses on a cost-per-acquisition basis.
