Tierney Steps Down as CEO, Three Execs Take His Place

Brian Tierney is giving up his position as president and CEO of Tierney Communications, and taking on the titles of founder/chairman. The daily management of Tierney will be assumed by three executives.

They are: Tony DeGregorio, chairman and chief creative officer of Tierney Advertising; Scott Franks, executive vice president and COO of Tierney Advertising, who will become CEO of Tierney Communications; and Mary Stengel Austen, executive vice president and general manager of Tierney Public Relations, who will become president of Tierney Communications.

The company’s advertising division will change its name to Tierney DeGregorio Advertising.

These changes will occur on April 15.

Philadelphia-based Tierney Communications is a strategic communications agency with billings of more than $273 million. The agency is a member of the Interpublic Group of Companies.
