Successories Inc., Aurora, IL, reported that comparative sales from company-owned retail locations increased by 3.1% for the five weeks ended April 3, 1999. On a year-to-date basis, comparative store sales increased by 4.3% for the two months ended April 3.
This is compared with sales for Successories catalogs, which decreased by 4.1% for the five weeks ended April 3, although on a year-to-date basis, catalog sales have increased by 6.2% for the same period.
“Our 1999 sales results continue to be in line with our expectations,” noted Gary Rovansek, president and CEO of Successories, in a statement. “The decrease in our catalog sales mostly reflects the timing of the Easter holiday falling in late March this year as compared to early April last year.”
