Stamps.com, a small business supplier that sells postage and mailing service through the Web, had second quarter revenue of $5.1 million, up from $3.7 million in second quarter 2000. The company cut its net loss from $34.3 million to $5.2 million, largely by slashing sales and marketing expense from $20.5 million a year ago to $2.9 million in the most recent quarter, which ended June 30.
The Santa Monica, CA-based firm ended the quarter with 307,000 customers.
