Spa Finder Readies Consumer Expos
Aspen vacationers and Manhattan commuters will get free massages later this year at the first spa expos to be held in the U.S.
The two expos, hosted by marketing firm Spa Finder, Inc., will showcase spas’ services to about 500,000 consumers.
“Wineries have wine-tastings. Auto retailers have test drives. And now spas will finally have a way to attract new business by sharing the unique products, treatments and services they offer,” said Spa Finder CEO Pete Ellis in a statement.
Both expos will have spa treatments, food samples, interactive exhibits, product giveaways and demonstrations from skin and beauty brands. The expos are free to consumers.
The one-day Aspen Spa Day is slated for July 28 in downtown Aspen, CO. The event is expected to draw about 1,000 visitors.
Spa Finder has signed Bare Escentuals and Cliffs Communities as title sponsors, and Aspen Center for Integral Health and Aspen Magazine as presenting sponsors. Exhibitors that have signed on so far include Red Mountain Spa and Mexico Tourism Board, as well as beauty brands Sothys, Pevonia Botanica and Kama Ayurveda.
The four-day Manhattan expo, called The Spa Experience, will be staged in Grand Central Station from Oct. 31 through Nov. 3, reaching as many as 500,000 commuters. Spa Finder expects to sign 60 exhibitors for that event, at $7,500 apiece. MSE Management handles the expos.
Spa Finder will promote the events to consumers on its flagship Web site Spafinder.com, which houses a searchable database of spas; the company also will tap its consumer database to issue targeted invitations. Ads in Luxury SpaFinder Magazine and other media outlets support.
