Sitel Signs Deal With Compaq in Brazil

Service bureau Sitel Corp., Baltimore, has signed a three-year outsourcing contract with Compaq Computer Brasil Ind. Ltda. to provide customer relationship management services to Compaq’s corporate and consumer markets in Brazil.

In December, Sitel announced a three-year agreement with Compaq Canada to provide telephone-based sales and customer service applications to various Compaq customers in Canada.

In related news, Compaq Computer Corp. has cut the number of distributors that sell its business PCs and servers to four from about 40 to curb costs and manage inventory. The partners are Ingram Micro Inc., Tech Data Corp., Merisel Inc. and Inacom Corp.
