Shop At Home Takes A Loss

Shop At Home Inc. had a net loss of $6.2 million in third quarter 2002, compared with net income of $19.7 million a year ago. But last year’s income figures include a one-time sale of a television station, for $48.9 million. The company’s revenue slipped from $50.4 million to $49.7 million. The quarter ended March 31.

The Nashville, TN-based television shopping network and online retailer said that it had made a planned shift from the sports memorabilia that had traditionally been its dominant merchandise category, and that returned merchandise rates improved from 23.6% a year ago to 17.3% in the quarter just ended.
