Sharper Image Corp., San Francisco, is considering a shift of its home-furnishings collection to its online store, after the company decided not to further test mailings of the Sharper Image Home Collection paper catalog.
Catalog sales year to date for the two months of fiscal 1999 rose 15% to $7 million, from last year’s $6.1 million. Internet sales increased 272% to $1.3 million from last year’s $.4 million. Including Home Collection catalog sales, total sales were the same as last year at $26 million and catalog sales of $7 million showed a decrease of 16% from last year’s $8.3 million.
