School Specialty Inc. has been acquired by an affiliate of Bain Capital Partners LLC for about $1.5 billion in stock.
CEO David Vander Zander is expected to remain CEO of the Greenville, WI School supplies cataloger.
“We don’t anticipate any layoffs and the headquarters will stay here,” he said in a statement. “School Specialty will still be a standalone company and our name will still be on our products.”
