Platform-A Tops Yahoo, Google

Recent figures released by comScore indicate that AOL’s Platform-A advertising network retained its top spot on the list of the top 50 ad networks in the U.S. by unique visitor in August.

Platform-A, which includes Advertising.com and Quigo among other ad networks, reached 170.7 million unique visitors, or 90 percent of the total unique audience (188.9 million) in August.

Yahoo!’s ad network ranked second with an audience of 162.2 million unique visitors, giving it a reach of 86 percent.

Google’s ad network was third in August with an audience of 156.4 million unique visitors, giving it a reach of 83 percent.

Specific Media was fourth, reaching 152.5 million unique visitors, giving the ad network a reach of 81 percent.

ValueClick networks finished fifth in August with an audience of 150.8 million unique visitors, giving it a reach of 80 percent.

Tribal Fusion (76 percent), Yahoo! (74 percent), Google (72 percent), YuMe video network (69 percent), and MediaNet (Casale Media) (68 percent) rounded out the top 10.

MSN Windows Live ranked 19th with a 59 percent reach, while the AOL Media Network followed in the 20th spot with a 59 percent reach.

MySpace finished 28th with a 40 percent reach, followed by YouTube at 29th with a 40 percent reach.

The National Newspaper Network (all U.S. newspapers) ranked 31st with a 38 percent reach.
