PetSmart will consolidate its PetSmart.com operations, currently housed in Pasedena, CA, into its Phoenix headquarters. Additionally, its PetsSmart Direct facility in Brockport, NY will lose 47 positions as all functions except for front-office operations are moved to Phoenix. Total losses from the consolidation will amount to fewer than 100 jobs, with the cuts scheduled to be completed by April 30.
The Pasedena facility will be closed, but the Brockport location will remain open to continue to handle fulfillment for its catalog, e-commerce and in-store State Line Tack departments. It will also manage customer service for all direct marketing operations.
Final determination on which positions will be eliminated has not been determined, a spokesperson said. The company will provide corporate headquarter jobs to as many Pasedena-based employees as possible, and will provide outplacement services and severance packages for those that do not wish to relocate.
