One in five online shoppers report that they have returned an item purchased online in the past six months, according to a report released by NFO Worldwide, a market research firm.
The report found that 159 of the 759 past-six-month shoppers, or 21%, returned a purchased product. Some 20% returned women’s apparel and accessories. Movies and videos were returned by 13% of the 157 respondents that made returns.
In addition, among those making returns, 73% reported that they were satisfied with how the return was handled citing convenience and ease. Nearly all, 89%, of those making returns mailed the item back to the merchant.
