Seattle-based Nordstrom Inc. is introducing a gift card for teens.
Designed for teenage customers of the retailer’s junior department, Brass Plum, the BP. Card can be obtained in any amount between $10 and $500. Each time they purchase they get points that can be redeemed for a gift later.
The card is also personalized, so the unused value can be protected if the card is lost or stolen.
A monthly activity statement is mailed to the cardholder each month. “Since the BP. Card cannot be overdrawn, parents can be assured their teens are spending wisely,” said a company statement.
Customers may sign-up for a card by calling a toll-free number, visiting www.norstrom.com/bp or mailing in a form. They must be 13 years of age and residing in the U.S. to do so.
