CARTOON NETWORK ENTERPRISES: has teamed up with Now and Zen Productions as apparel partners for its original comedy series, “Chowder”and “Flapjack.” The collection, which will include T-shirts and fleece tops for both juniors and young men, marks the first licensing deal for each product. Product will launch at specialty retailers nationwide this spring.
NATIONAL BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION: fans have selected Portland Blazers rookie Rudy Fernandez for the Sprite Slam Dunk competition during the league’s All-Star Saturday Night competition on Feb. 14. More than 500,000 votes were cast to pick the fourth player for the slam dunk contest. Fernandez, a native of Spain, will be the first NBA player from outside of the U.S. to participate in that annual competition.
