NBC Universal is expanding on its ecology awareness campaign, presenting 150 hours of environmental programming on air and online next week.

On-air talent from John Krasinski of “The Office” and Jaime Pressly (“My Name Is Earl”) to NFL football commentator Tiki Barber will be featured in public service announcements offering their perspectives on the “Green Your Routine” theme.

NBC News will run the second part of its “Ends of the Earth” series on “The Today Show,” with segments featuring the show’s anchors reporting from exotic locales worldwide on the effect global warming is having on the water supply. “NBC Nightly News” environmental correspondent Anne Thompson will be reporting on energy challenges facing the Obama administration.

NBC-owned stations will produced eco-themed segments on air and online.

Six NBC primetime shows, including “Lipstick Jungle,” “Kath & Kim,” “My Own Worst Enemy,” “Knight Rider,” and this week’s “Law & Order” will have green storylines.

Among other highlights, USA Network relaunched, featuring actors, including cast members from “The Starter Wife” and “Monk” commenting on their personal ecological initiatives. Sci Fi will air “Lost City Raiders,” an original movie set 40 years after the cumulative effects of global warming have been realized. Sci Fi’s “How You Can Save the World” blog, will be green-centric. The Bravo and Oxygen Web sites will be laced with green tips.

The Weather Channel will present green-themed shows all week, including episodes of its “Forecast Earth” series addressing climate change, alternative energy and other related subjects

“We want to be seen as a company and brands that not only cares about delivering good entertainment products,” said Beth Colleton, vice president of Green Is Universal. “We hope that [viewers] find this to be news they can use.”

The overall “Green Is Universal” initiative, launched last year in May, includes hawking eco-friendly NBC products, including reusable shopping bags from “The Today Show” and “Heroes” T-shirts made from recycled materials, in a new eco-conscious store this week online.

The green effort also extends to the college gridiron around the Nov. 22 game between Syracuse and Notre Dame. Students and alumni of both schools are being challenged to make commitments to the environment at Carbonrally.com. NBC Sports is also running an online video contest, soliciting eco-conscious PSAs from students at both schools, with 10 finalists to have their submissions posted. The winning 30-second submission will air during the game.
