MyPoints.com Inc., San Francisco, said that it has merged its MyPoints and BonusMail membership programs and that it has entered a marketing deal with Microsoft Corp.
The company said its new MyPoints Program enables advertisers to offer consumers points to respond to their messages both online at the MyPoints Web site (http://www.mypoints.com) and through MyPoints BonusMail e-mail advertising. Consumers can aggregate points earned through either medium for products and services from roughly 50 rewards providers, including Barnes & Noble, Hilton HHonors and Macy’s.
Under the Microsoft deal, the two companies will work together to promote Microsoft Outlook Express and MyPoints BonusMail. Outlook Express is the e-mail client that comes with Internet Explorer 5 and that supports HTML.
Microsoft Outlook Express is including a brief description and link to the MyPoints registration site on the Outlook Express Partners Page and from the Outlook Express Welcome Message.
MyPoints.com is promoting Outlook Express in the MyPoints registration and through MyPoints BonusMail direct e-mail marketing.
MyPoints.com said it recently completed its first Outlook Express campaign through MyPoints BonusMail, achieving a response rate of 26%.
Primedia Ventures, the venture capital arm of publishing and media company Primedia Inc., which owns DIRECT, is an investor in MyPoints.com Inc.
