MTV Pimps Out Sweeps With Midway’s L.A. Rush

To boost the launch of Midway’s new arcade-style racing game L.A. Rush, MTV and MTV2 are rolling out two separate sweepstakes in which three consumers can win a pimped out 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STI.

The promotion coincides with yesterday’s launch of L.A. Rush for the PlayStation 2 platform. The game hits the PC platform on Dec. 12. L.A. Rush is the first of three titles that will be released as part of an agreement between MTV and Midway to jointly market video games. It features MTV branding throughout the game with the crew from the MTV’s Pimp My Ride.

MTV kicks off the L.A. Rush Watch n’ Win sweepstakes on Oct. 14. Entrants must log on to LARush.MTV.com and complete an entry form, which contains trivia questions about L.A. Rush. The network will air a sneak peek of L.A. Rush on Oct. 16 during its Sunday Stew show. Two grand prize winners will receive a pimped out 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STI.

MTV2 further supports the game with its own sweepstakes. Consumers can log on to Win.mtv2.com for a chance to win their own 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STI under the network’s L.A. Rush sweepstakes.

The network will promote the game with a video premiere featuring Twista and his song, Hit The Floor, as part of Sucker Free Week this week. Twista, who is featured as a character in L.A. Rush, will also host MTV2’s T-Minus Hip Hop Countdown during the week of October 24th and promote the game during one segment each day.
