Monster Worldwide Profit Rises

Monster Worldwide’s profits rose to $30.8 million for the third quarter of 2005 compared to $20 million for the same quarter a year earlier, the online jobs company reported yesterday.

Total revenue increased 26% to $249.3 million in the third quarter of 2005 compared to $198.6 million in the third quarter of 2004, the parent company of Monster.com said.

The company also reported that profits for the nine-month period ended Sept. 30, 2005 were $71 million compared to $48.6 million for the first nine months of 2004.

Monster Worldwide reported total revenue for the first nine months of 2005 was $720.3 million compared to $541.2 million for the first nine months of last year.
