Money Pitch

Sometimes there’s just no substitute for cash. That’s why 2K Sports is offering a cool $1 million prize for the first proven “perfect game” pitched on this year’s version of its MLB2K console baseball game.
Players have until May 1 to pitch a game that retires all 27 batters hitless, with no pitcher substitutions. They also need to capture the whole thing on video and deliver that game tape for review once they’ve won.
2K Sports says the contest is meant to promote the hyper-realistic pitching function in this year’s game, and that it’s serious about showing someone the money. True, there have been only 16 perfect games in pro ball since 1900. But who’s to say the next one won’t happen in someone’s living room?
