Microsoft Dresses Up Mac Sweeps

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Microsoft extends its “Inner Suit” ad campaign with a sweepstakes offering Macintosh users an action figure of themselves.

The Win Your Inner Suit sweeps supports Microsoft’s Office 2004 for Mac software. The sweeps (and the ads) are built on the notion that creative Mac users have a more business-like alter ego—what Microsoft has dubbed their “inner suit.”

Nine winners get a doll customized to look like them, and a copy of Office 2004 for Mac. Entrants also can register to sample the software for 30 days, for free. The online sweeps runs through yearend via McCann-Erickson, San Francisco, which handles ads.

“This product is designed to appeal to a Mac customer’s inner business suit, and the sweepstakes is an opportunity for them to meet their inner suit face to face,” said Scott Erickson, group product manager for Microsoft’s Macintosh Business Unit, in a statement.
