Loews Cineplex Entertains Moviegoers This Summer

Loews is reaching out to customers this summer with a giant three-story popper that makes its debut outside the Sony Loews Theater in New York City on Broadway and 68th Street on June 6.

The popper will promote the upcoming Discovery Channel show, Big!, where they build really big stuff and go into the mechanics of making something of that size. Over 6,000 bags of popcorn will be distributed during the three-hour event.

Also at Loews, a summer test run of branded merchandise will be offered at select theaters. Through a partnership with Moviequest, Loews has co-produced a CD-ROM Trivia Game, which supports the theater chain’s 100th year celebration. A CD collection will also be offered, featuring different theme songs from blockbuster movies over the past 100 years. As part of the test, through an agreement with licensee ABG Enterprises, hats were sold at Loews 84th Street theater in New York City during the opening weekend of Shrek 2.
