Live Promotes Beautiful Baby Search, Van Giveaway Sweeps
Parents get your cameras ready. Live With Regis and Kelly is searching for the best-looking baby and will award the winner with a cash prize and a chance to 
appear on a future cover of Parents Magazine.
As part of Live’s Beautiful Baby Search 2005, parents of babies and tots between the ages of six months and 48 months can enter their children in the contest by submitting a non-professional photo of their loved ones to Liveregisandkelly.com or via mail. Submission will be accepted through Feb. 4.
Ten semi-finalists will be selected from all qualifying entries and will appear on Live and on Live’s Web site. Viewers can vote on-line for five of the ten semi-finalists. The five finalists who receive the most votes will be invited to appear on the talk show during the week of Feb. 21 and attend a Parents Magazine photo shoot. Representatives from Live and Parents will decide which baby will earn the coveted title “beautiful baby.”
The grand-prize winner will be announced on Feb. 25. The top winner will receive $5,000 and will appear on a future cover of Parents Magazine. Four runners-up will each receive $500. This is the second installment of Live’s beautiful baby search. The talk show ran its first search in 2003.
Live is also proving to fans they don’t have to appear on the Oprah show to win a new car. As part of a separate sweepstakes, Live is offering viewers the chance to win a Pontiac Montana SV6 through a watch-and-win element. This week, Live co-hosts Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa will offer viewers clues to win the sports van through the show’s “Pontiac Extreme Van-A-Day Giveaway.”
Viewers can register online for the sweepstakes Between Jan. 21 at and Feb. 18 at Regisandkelly.com or via mail. Participants must include the five clues released on the show as part of the registration process. Selected viewers who hear their name announced during the show must answer a trivia question about a previous Live show to win the new van.
The talk show plans to give away more than $1 million worth of Pontiac sports vans and other prizes. Winners will be randomly selected. Cars will be awarded starting Feb. 1. The sweepstakes will award 19 Pontiac Montana SV6 vans and cash awards up to $20,975. The cash award includes the cost of fees and vehicle taxes associated with the prize. Participants also have the chance to win add-ons, such as one free year of gasoline, and even win an additional car.
The sweepstakes is open to viewers 18 and older and runs through Feb. 18. Burbank, CA-based Buena Vista Television is sponsoring the sweepstakes. The Sullivan Compliance Company, also of Burbank, CA, is administering the sweepstakes.
