Names in the New Acquires Pacific Lists
Names in the News Inc. has acquired Pacific Lists Inc. Terms have not been disclosed.

Oakland, CA-based Names in the News plans to expand list management and brokerage services in the health, self-improvement, education and cultural markets. The company has been in business since 1969.

Names In the News’ clients include Care Inc., U.S. Fund for UNICEF, Common Cause, United Farm Workers, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Simon Wiesenthal Center, Ms. Magazine, Union of Concerned Scientists and the Jane Goodall Institute, among other organizations.

Pacific Lists founded in 1974 will retain its name, existing staff and offices located in Corte Madera, CA.

Circulation Manager

Location – Portland, Oregon

One of our clients a leading catalog retailer based in the Northwest is seeking a Circulation Manager who will be an integral leader in their Brand Marketing team. The Circulation Manager will be a key player in the goal of maximizing revenue through development, planning and execution of catalog marketing strategies and budgets. Responsibilities will include planning of circulation retention, reactivation & acquisition strategies to drive file growth, and meet financial objectives. You will work closely with the Marketing Director and the Marketing Internet Manager to develop cross channel loyalty programs and contact strategies. Responsibilities also include but are not limited to management of list brokerage/list management activities, offline alternate acquisition programs, and catalog requestor program.

The successful candidate will have thorough knowledge of catalog circulation planning and production; thorough knowledge of list industry including brokerage and management; and possess well-developed written and interpersonal skills and strong negotiation skills. The individual must have knowledge of the financial dynamics of a mail order operation, including profit and loss reporting, forecasting, budgeting and sales planning. Must be skilled at motivating, challenging, supporting, and managing people. Must possess excellent project management skills and organizational skills, be detail oriented and able to coordinate multiple tasks. Must demonstrate the ability to work independently and effectively under pressure. Must be well versed in PC use and applications including Microsoft Excel, Word and Access. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Marketing or related field and 5+ years marketing and management experience with increasing levels of responsibility required.
