Sue Kroll has been named president of world marketing for Warner Bros. Pictures.
In the newly created position, Kroll will oversee both domestic and international theatrical marketing divisions at Warner Bros. She will be in charge of streamlining marketing operations and increasing efficiencies between the domestic and international units, the company said.
“It makes a lot of sense for us to have the domestic and international marketing teams under one executive, which will help us maximize our resources, our reach and our impact,” said Jeff Robinov, president of Warner Bros. Pictures Group, in a statement.
Kroll most recently was president of marketing for Warner on the international side, a position she held since 2000. During her tenure, Warner’s international division annually hit gross revenues of more than $1 billion.
She oversaw marketing for the “Harry Potter” movie series, “I am Legend,” “Ocean’s Thirteen,” “The Departed” “Happy Feet” and “Blood Diamond.”
Prior to heading the division, Kroll was senior vice president of international marketing, responsible for developing strategies around overseas releases. She joined Warner Bros. in 1994 as head of programming and operations for the studio’s international channels.
