Konica Minolta Grabs Gator Bowl Title Sponsorship

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Konica Minolta USA struck a three-year deal to take the title sponsorship of the Gator Bowl through 2010.

The Konica Minolta logo will be displayed between the goalpost uprights at the bowl game and at mid-field, with the blue and gold color scheme underlined by the stylized green spine of an alligator’s spine. The logo will be featured in all materials promoting the game, which will be played at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium on Jan. 1.

The logo will also be featured in promotional spots about the game on CBS during NCAA basketball games, NFL contests and the CBS Early Show. The outstanding player of the game will receive the Konica Minolta Gator Bowl MVP Award in a post-game ceremony.

“As a leading international organization, it’s important to be associated with the pedigree and history of events such as the Gator Bowl,” said Kevin Kern, vice president of product planning and marketing for Konica Minolta Business Solutions USA.

The 2008 Gator Bowl will mark the 63rd contest in the game’s history. It will feature an Atlantic Coast Conference team against a representative of the Big 12 Conference, the Big East Conference or Notre Dame.
