Interpublic Posts Income, Revenue Declines

Interpublic, the advertising agency conglomerate based in New York, reported net income of $117.1 million for the quarter ended June 30, a sharp decline from $201.4 million in the same period a year ago.

Quarterly revenue decreased 4.3% to $1.7 billion from $1.8 billion a year ago.

The company attributed these results to reduced client spending resulting from the slowing economic climate.
