Heyer Departs Coke at Month’s End

Coca-Cola Co. has confirmed that president and COO Steven J. Heyer will leave the company Sept. 1.

The eight executives reporting to Heyer will report directly to CEO E. Neville Isdell the company reported on its internal Web site, a company employee said yesterday.

Media reports speculated that Heyer may be in discussions to join Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. in White Plains, NY, as CEO.

The company announced in June that Heyer would leave the company following a mutual agreement with Isdell, who assumed the position of chairman and CEO June 1. Heyer had been a candidate for the top job.

Heyer joined the Coca-Cola Co. in March 2001 from AOL Time Warner, where he had been president and COO of Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. and a member of the AOL Time Warner operating committee. Prior to being elected president and COO in December 2002, Heyer had been president and COO of Coca-Cola Ventures.
