Estée Lauder has reported a 51% jump in fourth quarter income bolstered by new product sales and an improving U.S. retail market.
Income rose to $71.1 million, compared to $47.2 million one year ago.
Sales rose to $1.4 billion, up 15% from $1.22 billion. Double-digit sales were seen in skin care ($2.15 billion), makeup ($2.15 billion) and fragrance ($1.22 billion), while hair care ($294.4 million) increased in the high single digits. Double-digit growth was seen in most regions, however sales rose in the single digits in the United States. The quarter ended June 30.
For the full year, Estée Lauder reported sales of $5.79 billion, a 14% increase over $5.1 billion in the prior year.
