DM Sales Plummet at Sharper Image

Sharper Image Corp. reported its total catalog and direct marketing decreased 33% to $87.9 million for fiscal year 2005, down from $130.5 million reported for the 2004 fiscal year.

Internet sales for the 2005 fiscal year declined 8% to $107.2 million, compared to $116.3 million in the previous fiscal year.

Total catalog and direct marketing were down 46% in the fourth quarter. Internet sales for the final quarter of 2005 dropped 1%.

The company attributes declining sales of air purifiers and massage chairs for its lackluster financial results.
