Former Disney executive Matthew Palmer has joined Stardoll, an online entertainment destination for girls, as executive vice president and general manager.
The post, the first for the company, took effect April 17.
In his new role, Palmer will support Stardoll’s global expansion, oversee the company’s U.S. business and strategy and create a team that will drive U.S. growth and revenue. In addition, Palmer is in charge of developing integrated partnerships with advertisers, brand, music labels, film studios, TV networks, celebrities and musicians to drive traffic to Stardoll.com and expand its user base.
Palmer will work out of the company’s Los Angeles office and report to Mattia Miksche, Stardoll’s chief executive officer.
He previously worked as senior vice president, marketing at The Walt Disney Co. where he managed strategic and creative marketing for children’s television brands and platforms in the ABC Cable Networks Group, including the Disney Channel, Playhouse Disney, Jetix, Toon Disney and ABC Kids.
Prior to that, Palmer worked at vice president, strategic marketing at Discovery Communications. Inc., where he oversaw creative, strategic marketing and branding initiatives for a number of networks, including TLC and its popular show, “Trading Spaces.” Before that, he worked as vice president, marketing for Blue Man Productions, Inc., where he built awareness for the hit production, “Blue Man Group.”
