Direct Sales Up, Retail Down for Eddie Bauer

Eddie Bauer Holdings Inc. generated second quarter revenue of $227 million up from $22.57 million during second quarter 2006. The company’s net loss shrank from $42 million to $22.2 million during the same period. The quarter ended June 30.

The gain came from the Bellevue, WA-based sportswear and accessories company’s direct operations. Second quarter catalog and online sales were $61.5 million, up from $57.8 million a year ago. In comparison, retail sales slipped from $153.8 million to $151.4 million during the same period.
