After increasing at a record pace for six months, direct mail solicitations dropped off in the third quarter of 2001.
Some 1.9 million solicitations were mailed during the third quarter compared to 2.3 billion the quarter prior, according to tracking research by Comperemedia. Mailboxes received the most direct mail in July at 708 million pieces.
