Dick’s Signs Three-Year Deal with Pittsburgh Pirates

Sporting goods retailer Dick’s Sporting Goods has signed on as a sponsor of the MLB Pittsburgh Pirates. The agreement runs through the 2007 season, and provides Dick’s with a comprehensive branding and consumer promotion platform.

As part of the sponsorship deal, Dick’s will allow fans attending home wins at PNC Park to use their ticket stub as a $10 coupon off their next in-store purchase of $50 or more.

Dick’s will also sponsor the “Gloves for Kids” community initiative on May 19 at its Robinson Mall location. For a $20 donation, fans can receive autographs from Pirates players attending the event, a $5 Dick’s certificate and a coupon for a half-priced Pirates ticket. Money raised will be used to purchase gloves and other needed baseball equipment for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania.

Pittsburgh-based Dick’s operates 232 stores in 32 states under the Dick’s and Galyan’s names.
