Del Monte Woos Carb Counters with Vacation Prize

Del Monte Foods is running an online instant-win game to promote its Carb Clever line of canned fruit.

P-O-P supports the online game

San Francisco-based Del Monte launched Carb Clever in November (Nov. 10 Xtra). The Win a Vacation Every Year for Life game boasts a $275,000 prize pool, including the grand-prize trip a year for life.

Players visit sweepstakes.delmonte.com and enter the UPC from a Carb Clever can. They pick six travel destinations (from 30) to trigger a random instant-win message. First prize (10) is $7,500; second prize (30) is $75. One $5,000 consolation prize will be awarded via random-draw among all non-winning entries.

The game runs Jan. 17 through March 16 via Integrated Marketing Services, Irvine, CA.

The Carb Clever line—sliced peaches, fruit cocktail, sliced pears, pear chunks and peach chunks—target low-carb dieters with 50% to 70% fewer carbs than regular canned fruit.
