Consumers Warm To Web Shopping, Worry About Delivery

While consumers believe that shopping online will save them money, they worry that purchases will arrive late, according to a survey from market researcher E-BuyersGuide.com, Burlington, MA.

In a special holiday survey, conducted earlier this month, 79% of the 1,031 e-consumers polled said they expected to save money by shopping online while 63% worried that their online purchases would be delivered late.

While only 34% of respondents reported that they had shopped online for the holidays last year, 71% plan to spend more than $150 online this holiday season. Ninety-one percent indicated it was convenient for them to find specific brands or products online.

The top five shopping categories are, music (56%), toys (54%), books (53%), apparel (51%), and games/hobbies (46%).
