Comic Book to Help Boost Viewership of Court TV Series

Court TV is using a novel approach to promote its upcoming series ‘Til Death Do Us Part—comic books.

The network has teamed up with DC Comics to create a comic book whose title is the same as the series.

The comic book follows the storyline of the first episode “The Airplane Murder.” The half hour segment tells the tale of a middle-aged doctor who marries a young receptionist. The Groom Reaper, however, warns the couple that in a few years one person will turn into a murderer, while the other will be the victim.

The comic book ends with a cliffhanger driving viewers to the premiere episode at 10 p.m. ET March 19 on Court TV.

Court TV is handing out the comic books to Virgin Megastores customers in New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Hollywood, CA, Ontario, CA, Chicago, Denver, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, Anaheim, CA, and Dallas. Consumers will also receive one with any in-store purchase.

Another 50,000 comic books will be inserted in the March 19 edition of the New York Post, while others will be distributed in select DC Comic stores. Court TV plans to distribute in total about 400,000 comics as part of the promotion.

The comic book also appears online at CourtTV.com/Comic.

‘Til Death Do Us Part is a 13-episode half-hour series that features true crime stories involving married couples whose happy lives end in murder. Print ads, out-of-home, radios spots, TV spots and online materials will support the series.
