  • Direct Sales Lead Jos. A. Banks September Gains

    September sales for Jos. A. Banks Clothiers were $32.1 million, up from $27.7 million in Sept. 2003. Catalog and Internet sales rose 8.7%, while same-store sales were up 3.9%.

  • Penney Says Storms Dampened Recent Sales

    While J.C. Penney Co.’s catalog and Internet sales were up 3.3% during the five weeks ended Oct. 2, and store sales rose 2%, the company claimed that the recent hurricanes had a negative impact on its revenue.

  • Direct Growth Strong for Neiman Marcus

    Total revenue for The Neiman Marcus Group rose 6.3%, from $344 million during the five weeks ended Oct. 4. 2003, to $366 million for the five weeks just ended. While the company did not break out individual sales figures, it did indicate that revenue from Neiman Marcus Direct rose 6.4% while store revenue was up 5.6%.

  • Frontier Airlines Loyalty Program Embraces Print-On-Demand Service

    Frontier Airlines has started using a print-on-demand offering from Jerome Group to enhance its frequent flier card program. The new system will allow the carrier to cut down on fulfillment turnaround time for EarlyReturns, its loyalty program. The printing program allows the airline to incorporate a magnetic stripe onto the cards.

  • Deutsche Post Aggregates Units Into DHL Smart and Global Mail

    Deutsche Post World Net has united its international mail industry operations Deutsche Post Global Mail, SmartMail Services and QuikPak under a single corporate umbrella. The new entity, DHL Smart and Global Mail, will be a separate business from DHL Express, although both firms will be under the aegis of Deutsche Post World Net.

  • Fort Lauderdale Call Center To Raffle Off South Florida Vacation at DMA Conference

    Global Response Inc., a call center and fulfillment firm based just outside Fort Lauderdale, will hold a drawing for a free trip for two to Fort Lauderdale during 87th Annual Direct Marketing Association Conference and Exhibition in New Orleans on Oct. 16 to 20.
