    MeritDirect. Files moving to MeritDirect include the Champion America
    Sign and Safety (12,544 names) and Seton Identification Products
    (458,759 names) and four separate lists from Clement Communications,
    with counts ranging from 3,218 to 55,443.

  • Two-Million-Plus Names Stolen Data from Fidelity National Information Services

    An employee stole 2.3 million consumer records from Certegy Check Services Inc., a unit of Fidelity National Information Services Inc. The information was sold to a data broker, which in turn sold it to several direct marketing companies, according to published reports.

  • Annual Revenue Up, Loss Down for RedEnvelope

    RedEnvelope Inc. generated $121.3 million in revenue during fiscal 2007, up from $113.2 million a year earlier. The San Francisco-based gift marketer cut its net loss from $5.6 million to $3.5 million during the same period. The year ended April 1.

    Diversified Advertising Services, an Omnicom Group Inc. unit, has acquired Expert Communications. Expert Communications is a San Francisco-based direct response agency that specializes in regulated industries such as telecommunications, health care and financial services.

    Amazon.com Inc. plans to open a new fulfillment center in Phoenix, AZ during third quarter 2007. The new facility will employ upward of 300 people year-round, with holiday capacity expanding by 1,000-1,300 temporary workers.
