American Eagle Outfitters Launches Loyalty Program

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

American Eagle Outfitters has rolled out a new loyalty program that rewards consumers and employees alike with certificates for branded merchandise based on spending habits.

The AE All-Access Pass lets customers 13 and older earn credits on any items bought in-store, online or via phone orders. The program, which kicked off Sept. 27, is designed to make customers’ shopping experience to be more personal and exciting.

The loyalty program is the first of its kind for American Eagle Outfitters. The company is best known for its branded apparel for 15- to 25-year-olds.

“This original program stays true to the AE brand by offering value, service, freedom and fun,” said American Eagle Outfitters CMO Michael James Leedy in a statement.

Under the program, All-Access Pass members earn reward certificates every quarter during the company’s peak seasonal introduction of merchandise. Reward certificates are based on members’ prior spending habits. The pass also gives members access to music, sales, events and contests online at AEallaccesspass.com. Members also receive 15% to 20% off discounts on their birthdays.

Members can earn five credits for purchases on jewelry, underwear, fragrances, accessories and personal care; 10 credits for T-shirts, athletics, dormwear, swimwear, sunglasses, flipflops, tanks and polo shirts; 15 credits for shirts, shorts, dresses, and shoes; 20 credits for boots, jeans, pants and sweaters and 25 points for outerwear and blazers. And for every AE credit card purchase, members can earn an additional five credits.

Consumers with 50 credits and 100 credits will receive 10% and 20% off future purchases, respectively. Consumers who earn 150 credits and 200 credits in a quarterly get 30% and 40% off American Eagle purchases.

To entice customers to join the program, American Eagle is offering 10 bonus credits to consumers who send in their e-mail address. Consumers can join the loyalty program in-store or online at AEallacesspass.com.

The AE All-Access Pass program runs through Dec. 31, 2006 for employees and through Dec. 31, 2008 for consumers. Online materials support.
