Al DiGuido, the former executive vice president of e-commerce/Computer Shopper at Ziff-Davis Inc., has been hired as CEO and president of The BigHub.com, which hopes to become a major online network for shopping, searching, content and community.
At Ziff-Davis, DiGuido led efforts to expand the Computer Shopper brand to the Internet with the successful Computershopper.com Web site. He also expanded the brand through several print extensions including the Computer Shopper College PC Buying and onto television with the Computer Shopper show on ZDTV.
TheBigHub.com (http://www.thebighub.com), which has relocated its headquarters from Fort Lauderdale, FL to Stamford, CT, is a network of branded, affiliate sites designed to leverage the traffic and capabilities of the iSleuth (http://www.isleuth.com) meta-search engine.
By uniting a diverse portfolio of “Big” companies within a web-based network, TheBigHub.com seeks to create a consumer destination with an emphasis on commerce, content, and community. Current network affiliates include TheBigPets.com, The BigTravel.com, TheBigRx.com, TheBigCompare.com, TheBigToys.com, TheBigBiz.com and TheBigAuction.com.
