Adidas Gets MLS Sponsorship

Adidas-Salomon has reached a $100 million, 10-year sponsorship deal with Major League Soccer, the league and the shoemaker were expected to announce yesterday.

The German company will supply match balls, run field-side advertising and will be the only sports brand advertised during TV broadcasts of MLS games, starting with the 2005 season, according to published reports.

Adidas will also have exclusive rights to branded clothing and equipment for MLS’s 12 teams starting in 2006.
