The c-store chain is the exclusive retailer for the frozen novelty that was first introduced at festivals and fairs in 2002. 7-Eleven launched Lick’Em Lights nationally this month. The treats are made by Poppin’ Glows, Inc., Tulsa, OK, which holds a patent on treat and its glow-in-the-dark stick. Poppin’ Glows tested retail distribution of the treats last summer in California, Oklahoma and Tennessee.
“This is a delightful product we think will be enjoyed by young and old alike this summer,” said Fred Holgate, managing director of merchandising for Dallas-based 7-Eleven, in a statement. “As the exclusive retailer for the Lick’Em Lights launch, we can give our customers another reason to come out of the heat and into our stores.”
