7-Eleven Inc. has hired its former VP-operations, Joe DePinto, as president-CEO.

DePinto joins 7-Eleven on Dec. 1. He replaces Jim Keyes, who resigned earlier this month (Nov. 17 Xtra).
DePinto had been VP-operations for Dallas-based 7-Eleven from May 2003 to March 2005. He left 7-Eleven only eight months ago to become President of videogame retailer GameStop Corp.
Before joining 7-Eleven, DePinto was senior VP-chief operating officer of Thorton Quick Café & Market, and earlier held executive posts at Pepsico.
Keyes resigned abruptly after 7-Eleven’s purchase by its sister company, Seven-Eleven Japan Co. He had been with the c-store chain for 20 years.
