U.S. Consumers Spend 80% of Their Mobile Time on Apps

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

If your company doesn’t have an app or run in-app ads, Simon Khalaf of Flurry has some new data that might spur you to change that.

According to data from Flurry, which recently celebrated the five-year anniversary of its analytics product, the average U.S. consumer spend 2 hours and 38 minutes per day on smartphones and tablets. Eighty percent of that, or a little more than 2 hours and 6 minutes a day, is spent within apps, while the remaining 20% is spent on the mobile Web. Facebook alone commands 18% of consumers’ daily time spent with these devices.

The app economy is thriving and on the move, leaving companies with the decision of getting on board or taking the risk of getting left behind. For more, read Flurry’s blog.
