You’ve Got Coupons!

St. Petersburg, Fl-based SuperMarkets Online, a subsidiary of Catalina Marketing Corp., has signed an agreement with Dulles, VA-based America Online to offer its ValuPage coupons on the AOL service and AOL’s Web-based Digital City.

AOL members will be able to visit the ValuPage Web site, enter their zip codes, and select the local supermarkets whose coupons they would like to receive. Consumers print out the coupons and present them at checkout lanes, where they also receive Web Bucks, cash rewards that can be used on their next visit to the store. More than 9,000 supermarkets participate in the ValuPage program.

Meanwhile, the Catalina Marketing Network added 117-outlet grocery chain Fred Meyer, Inc. of Portland, OR, and 455-store chain PetSmart of Phoenix, AZ, to its traditional scanner-based electronic couponing system.
