VH1 Boost 80s Series With Guerilla Marketing Campaign

VH1 is hitting the streets next week to promote its upcoming series I Love the 80s 3D invoking a bit of nostalgia via an ET in 3D campaign in Manhattan.

Bikers dressed in red-hooded sweatshirts emblazoned with I Love the 80s 3D logos will travel around the city on Monday with stuffed and wrapped dolls representing ET in bike baskets while ambassadors will hand out 15,000 3D glasses in high-traffic areas, including Times Square, Penn Station, Grand Central Station, Port Authority Bus Terminal and Union Square.

In addition, more than 1,000 National Amusement Theaters across the country will run promo spots for I Love the 80s 3D. Best Buy stores will give the series another boost offering at least 2 million 3-D eyeglasses via in-store display units in 2,000 Best Buy stores nationwide on Oct. 22 and 23. The retailer will also feature the I Love the 80s 3D glasses promotion and series in Sunday circulars distributed on Oct. 23.

I Love the 80s 3D gives viewers a skewed view of the music, movies, TV shows, fashions, fads, and trends that defined pop culture during every year of the decade with a 21st century twist. The series premieres Oct. 24-28 at 9 p.m. ET.
